About us

Youth Wellness Hub (YWH) Northumberland is part of a growing network of 27 hubs across the province, funded by the Government of Ontario and other philanthropic funders.

YWH Northumberland is a welcoming, accessible, free to use one-stop-shop for youth aged 12-25 years

Our goal is to increase access to rapid, free services, to reduce wait times for vital primary care/mental health services and to help youth overcome barriers which have previously hampered their wellness journey.

Across Ontario, youth face complex health challenges with extensive wait times and accessibility, transportation and financial barriers further impeding them on their heath journey, especially in Northumberland County.

YWH Northumberland is a place where all youth can access every service without judgement or cost, and as importantly, where youth can feel supported as they take control of their own wellness journey.

Hub & Spoke Model

Northumberland is a diverse community made up of urban and rural areas and we are committed to improving access and services for youth across the county. That’s why we are planning a ‘Hub and Spoke’ model, with virtual and in-person services being rolled out across the county over the next few years.

The Main Headquarters will be located at 15 Cavan Street in Port Hope (opening in Summer 2025).

When young people walk into any of our locations, our goal is to provide the community connections to support them, regardless of their need, background and current service use.

Who Are We?

YWH Northumberland employs a small team of dedicated staff whose passion is to help youth reach their own version of success.

The Hub is governed by a Collaborative Partnership Team of six local organizations who gather input, collaboratively plan and implement our services. We also work in partnership with community agencies, and work in close partnership with our Youth- and Family- Advisory Councils.
